Helium

Sometimes leaks are so small, they are extremely difficult to locate.  At CPL, we have the ability to detect these leaks using Helium.  By inserting Helium in the line, we can pinpoint a leak with a sensitivity reading as low as 22 PPM. 

Sometimes leaks are impossible to find using audible leak detection. Whether the leak is very small or the environment is extremely noisy, CPL has the ability to find these leaks using tracer gas. We have filled pipes as large as 60” with helium to locate leaks and have had great success up and down the state. This technique has also worked well with small gas leaks where the gas has already been locked off.

We can also use this technique on gas lines, providing that the gas is turned off.

Video Sewer  Inspection

Video inspection can provide an easy an unmistakable approach to locating problems in sewer lines and drain lines.  Using a Fiber Optic camera through your lines, we can locate and provide a full color visual documentation of the problem.  Video inspection also allows for speedy diagnosis of the problem, as well as spotting potential future problems, allowing you to get the issue resolved as soon as possible and avoid future problems.

Before leaving, our technician will provide you with a DVD copy of the inspection to provide your repair company saving time and money.

Gas Leaks

Smell Gas? Is there a patch of grass that has turned brown or a tree that looks sick? If so you may have an underground gas leak. We here at CPL use Flame Ionization gas sniffers that can pinpoint that underground leak and actually give you a range of the size of the leak. As well as locating gas leaks, we also provide the service of doing the required gas surveys for mobile home parks and other facilities that need to be done annually.

Cable Faults

Using high voltage equipment CPL has the ability to pinpoint shorts in cable from irrigation wiring to street lights to high voltage electrical lines. Whether the cable be directly buried or in conduit we have the experience and knowledge to help locate the break so you can get your power restored.

PVC & Non-Metallic Water Lines

CPL can locate these (Once Impossible to Locate) water lines by using the water in the pipe as a conductor sending pulsating signals through the lines that can then be electronically heard.

Rebar and Post-Tension Cables

For drilling that needs to be done through floors of high rise buildings or parking structures that have rebar, post tension or pre-stressed cables, CPL can determine the exact position of orientation and + or – 1/8 inch of bar size and concrete cover.
